Nombulelo Secondary School
Nombulelo Secondary School is situated in the small town of Grahamstown in Joza Location.
It is the biggest school in town regarding the number of learners, this year we increased from 920 to 1020 this year.
Our Acting Principal is Mrs Noluthando Blanche Mhlekwa.
Our school is working through 5 core values which is respect, responsibility, communication, team work and excellence.
The school was officially opened on the 29 April 1989 by Mr W.A Staude who was the Regional Chief Director from the Dept of Education at the time.
Our school is working hand in hand with many stakeholders, to mention a few, Khulasande Sports Development who is helping our learners develop their sporting skills as well as exposing them to competitions.
We share our fields with other schools, the community and churches are also using our school hall.
The Hub which helps teachers to improve computer skills, Ikamva Development Centre which works with learners from other schools to improve their results.
Rhodes University is helping our Grade 12's on a mentoring programme and other projects e.g sciences.
We have an open-door policy for ex scholars and parents. Ex scholars are fully involved in our school activities.
Nombulelo is known for its matric results, last year we obtained a 79% pass rate.
We participate in tournaments in rugby, soccer, basketball and chess where one learner participated in a Provincial competition in Cape Town.
Partnership with Carinus school of Art for our grade 12 learners.
Mrs Coetzee is helping us to develop and arrange our Library.
We are working hard towards the overall development of our students and the community.
